Dean's Message

It gives me great pleasure, on behalf of the academic and administrative staff of the College of Law at the University of Sharqiyah, and on behalf of all the students, to welcome you. The College holds a distinguished position within the university system as it covers all areas of legal knowledge and serves as a bridge of communication with society in this field. It carries a great mission on its shoulders—beginning with the graduation of qualified legal professionals equipped with knowledge and legal sciences, and extending to the development of its mechanisms, diversification of its teaching methods, and keeping pace with advancements in the legal field to achieve the goals of the university, society, and the nation.
Since its establishment in 2017, the College of Law has strived to fulfill its vision and outlined objectives, in alignment with the vision and goals of the university. It has moved forward with confidence and progress, overcoming challenges through its wealth of knowledge, extensive experience, and the academic diversity of its faculty. Despite its short history, the College has achieved many successes, enhancing its standing among other colleges at the University of Sharqiyah, as well as among law schools both within the Sultanate of Oman and internationally.
The College comprises two departments: the Department of Public Law and the Department of Private Law. In addition to the Bachelor’s program in Law, the College offers five Master's programs: a Master’s in Public Law with two tracks (Criminal and Administrative/Constitutional), a Master’s in Private Law with two tracks (Civil and Commercial), and a Master’s in Personal Status Law. The College is also working toward launching a PhD program in Law and expanding its postgraduate specializations to keep pace with legislative and legal developments in Oman and around the world.
The College also places great emphasis on developing teaching strategies, by providing all the necessary means to ensure that the learning experience is rich in both knowledge and practical application, while also focusing on scientific research and community service.
