Dr. Motasem Alazaiza received his BSc. in Civil Engineering From the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine in 2009. After graduation, he works with several construction companies and consultant offices. In 2013, he received his MS.c in Civil Engineering (Water Resources Engineering). In 2015, he received a Graduate Research Scholarship for Ph.D. from Universiti Malaysia Pahang. In 2018, he received his PhD. in Civil Engineering (Contaminant Fate and Transport in Porous Media). In January 2018, he joined the School of Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia as a Teaching Fellow. In Sep 2018, he moved to Turkey and worked as Assistant Professor at Hasan Kalyoncu University. In September 2019, he joined A'Sharqiyah University in Oman at which he is currently an Assistant Professor. 

His research interest includes contaminant fate and transport in soil and groundwater, Groundwater remediation, Water and Wastewater Treatment, and solid waste management. He published around 40 journal papers in high-impact journals in addition to several international conferences. He is serving as a reviewer for several international journals in the environmental engineering field.
