AMJAD I. A JOMA  is an associate professor in Educational Psychology- Learning & Development at A‘Sharqiyah University, Oman. He received his BA in Psychology from the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine in 2002. After graduation, he worked with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East UNRWA as a psychosocial counselor. In 2005, he received his MA in Psychology (Psychological Counseling) from the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine. In 2009, he received a Graduate Research Scholarship for Ph.D. from International Fellowships Program - Ford Foundation. In 2013, he received his PhD. in Educational Psychology (Learning & Development) from Jordan University. In 2015 he worked as an assistant professor in Educational Psychology at Al-Aqsa University, Gaza, and other universities in Gaza strip. He has over 20 years of diverse work experience in Teaching in Higher Education, Psycho-education Counselling, Administration & Projects Management, Academic Advising, Training programs & Curriculum Development, and Research Projects.

Amjad's research interests focus on Education in Emergency and Psychosocial counseling, Learning, and development Thinking Research Skills, Cognitive functions, Teacher Technostress, Psychological and Academic Motives, Psychological Resilience, Inclusive Education, Project Based Learning, Educational Assessment tools, student and teacher's well-being, Trauma in Education, Social-emotional learning and intelligence, Learning and cognitive styles, educational programs evaluation.  Also, since his joining ASU in the Fall of 2019, he has gotten a fund for three research projects (1RG and 2 URG) from TRC- MoHERI Call 2020 and has a collaborative research project in Palestine in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair in Curriculum Development that follows the University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada. In addition, his research project entitled “ A proposed national training program to improve the body image and mental health among obese University students in the Sultanate of Oman” was submitted to the Strategic Research Programme (SRP) for the Health sector 2022 Cycle by MoHERI, has been selected for funding.
