Professional Member of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, Member of the Royal Society of Biology,London, UK, Member of Phycological Society of America. Holds PhD degree in Botany and Master of Science  degrees in both Botany and  Education and M.Phil degree in Biotechnology.  Joined ASU  in 2013 and currently working as the Asst. Professor of Biology in the College of Applied and Health Sciences. My areas of research include species diversity, DNA-Barcoding and bioprospecting of algae and plants. Exploring the biodiversity for useful applications is always been my interest and worked in the collaborative researches on the  extraction of phytochemicals, antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-cancer effects of biomolecules from plants, algae and fungi(mushrooms). I do studies on the  lab-scale cultivation of microalgae like Chlorella,Scenedesmus and cyanobacteria like  Spirulina for producing biomass for various applications like production of aquaculture feeds, nutrient supplements etc.. Currently running a block funded collaborative project on the microgreen algae of Oman in collaboration with OAPGRC, Research Cuncil of Oman. I could identified few new species of microalgae from Oman and presented papers on algae of Oman in many national and international conferences. I also conduct workshop on smart learning techniques towards improving the academic performance of students. I like  writing  scientific articles pertaining to biodiversity in newspapers for the public.“Treasures of Oman” a small  booklet on the genetic resources of Oman is one of my contributions for the kids of Oman (available in Arabic and English) through OAPGRC. I received the  Advanced Communicator (Bronz) award from Toastmasters International and  currently  the Vice President (Membership) of the Ibra Toastmasters Club.

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science), B.Ed (Bachelor of Education), M.Sc (Master of Science),M.Ed (Master of Education) M.Phil (Master of Philosophy in Biotechnology),PhD (Doctor of Philosphy) & PGDEPMA (Educational Planning, Management and Administration).

Species diversity, DNA-Barcoding and bioprospecting of algae, seaweeds  and plants.

Antioxidant, Antimicrobial and Anticancer-activities of plant, algae, seaweeds and fungi.

Mass cultivation of microalgae - Chlorella, Spirulina and other prospective hydrophyes for nutrient supplements,  feed, fodder and mannure.Isolation and Taxonomy of microalgae including Diatoms and Cyanobacteria.
