Dr. Ahmed Abdelfattah Hassan, DVM, MSc, PhD, currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Veterinary Medicine Department, College of Applied and Health Sciences, ASU, Ibra, Sultanate of Oman. He is a tenured Professor of Anatomy and Embryology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University, Sharkia, Egypt. He was also an Adjunct Professor in the Biomedical Sciences Program at Zewail City of Science and Technology, Giza, Egypt (from 2018-2025). He was appointed as Head of Anatomy and Embryology Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University, Sharkia, Egypt (from 2022-2024). Moreover, he has more than 18 years of experience in university level teaching and advanced research, and he published many international publications and several book chapters. Finally, he also succeded in obtaining funding for many research projects (on the national and international level) and engaged in collaborative research activities (nationally and internationally).

Dr. Ahmed obtained his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from Zagazig University (Egypt), European Master and European PhD Degrees from Universität de Lleida (Spain) in the field of peripartum immunology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fernando Lopez-Gatius. In addition, he was awarded two predoctoral scholarships, one during 2010 in Dr. Gereon Schares’s Lab in Institute of Epidemiology (IfE), Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Germany, and the second one during 2012 in Dr. Geoffrey Dahl’s Lab, Animal Sciences Department, University of Florida, USA. He pursued his postdoctoral training in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine during 2015 in Dr. Gerlinde Van de Walle’s Lab, Baker Institute for Animal Health, Cornell University, USA. What's more, Dr. Ahmed speaks 3 languages fluently; Arabic, English and Spanish.
