Message from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Engineering at A’Sharqiyah
University!
It is my privilege to welcome you
to the College of Engineering, a growing academic community committed to
quality, innovation, applied learning, and meaningful engagement with industry
and society.
Engineering plays a central role
in shaping modern life and in addressing challenges related to energy,
infrastructure, communications, digital technologies, sustainability, and
emerging technologies. In Oman, engineers are also essential contributors to
the ambitions of Oman Vision 2040 and to the development of a diversified,
knowledge-based, and sustainable economy.
At the College of Engineering, we
are committed to preparing graduates who are technically competent,
professionally responsible, adaptable, and ready for a rapidly changing world.
Our academic programs are continuously reviewed and developed to remain responsive
to local needs, industry expectations, technological advances, and
international trends in engineering education. The College is also
strengthening its quality assurance and accreditation efforts to ensure
alignment with recognized academic and professional standards.
Our students benefit from an
educational approach that combines engineering fundamentals with practical
learning, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, innovation, and industry
engagement. At the same time, our faculty are actively involved in applied and
interdisciplinary research, supported by the College’s laboratories and
research capabilities. The College is also expanding its collaboration with
industry through joint projects, applied research, consultancy, student
projects, and other initiatives that address real technical and societal needs.
The College is entering an
important phase of academic growth. We are expanding our academic portfolio,
including graduate-level opportunities, while exploring new programs that
respond to emerging technologies, workforce needs, and national priorities.
Through the collective efforts of
our faculty, staff, students, researchers, and partners, the College of
Engineering isa contributing significantly to the academic development,
visibility, and reputation of A’Sharqiyah University, while supporting the
University’s aspirations for stronger national and international recognition.
