Brief description:

A’Sharqiyah University International Undergraduate Scholarships are intended for students from other countries who would like to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at A’Sharqiyah University in the Sultanate of Oman. These scholarships are funded by the University.

Number of Scholarships:

The university allocates twenty (20) seats annually as full scholarships for international students who are graduates of the General Education Diploma or its equivalent, according to the system followed by the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman. The scholarship covers the duration of study in the academic program, in addition to a monthly allowance of 80 Omani Rials per student.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

Each Scholarship covers:

  • Full tuition covering the cost of study.
  • A monthly allowance of 80 Omani Rials per student.
  • The student should pay registration fees of 210 Omani Rials.

Not included:

Each candidate will be responsible for their airfares to and from Oman, visa fees, books, accommodation and meals. Students are advised to budget for approximately US $375 per month to cover their living expenses.

Eligibility:

The scholarships are targeted to citizens of any country. Citizens of developing countries are particularly encouraged to apply.

To be eligible for an ASU International Undergraduate Scholarship, candidates should hold a general Diploma or equivalent from other countries according to the following conditions:

  1. The student must have obtained a minimum of 70% in the General Education Diploma or its equivalent, according to the system followed by the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman. Priority is given to those with higher grades and to those who obtained their certificates from outside the Sultanate of Oman.
  2. For students who are not native English Language speakers, an IELTS score over band 5 is required to be exempted from the foundation year.
  3. The student must meet the University admission requirements for the intended program of study.
  4. The student must maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of not less than 2.7 throughout the duration of his/her studies; otherwise, the student shall lose his/her scholarship.
  5. The student must be medically fit.

Application instructions:

The University will only accept applications directly from candidates for these scholarships. Applications received via an agency or third party will not be considered. The University’s decision on any application is final and not subject to appeal.
