What are LRC working hours?
Sunday- Wednesday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Thursdays 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Friday, Saturday, and official vacations Closed.

Who could use LRC? 
ASU faculty, staff and students.

What are the fields of LRC collections? 
LRC collections cover all scientific fields of ASU and are available in both formats: print and electronic.

Could I access E-resources through LRC? 
Yes. LRC provide access to electronic resources such as, Omani Digital Library: Masader, open access sources and electronic Omani newspapers and magazines.

Where could I borrow, renew or return books? 
Circulation Department, Ground Floor, LRC Building.

What is LRC Circulation Policy?

Could the renewal process be performed online? 
Yes, through accessing LRC catalogue, available at:  http://olib.asu.edu.om/folio

Why users are fined? 
To ensure that LRC collections are preserved and properly maintained, and to ensure implementing a fair use policy among all users.

How fines are imposed? 
Fines are imposed in the following cases:

  • Late due date: 200 Baize per day for each book,
  • Loss or damage: The price of the book, in addition to administrative charges.

How could users know the imposed fines?

Where is the fine paid?
Fines are paid at Finance Department, ASU Administrative Building.

How could I book a study room? And for how long?
Room booking could be made by student ID Card. Single and group study rooms are available at both ground floor and first floor. Each room can be reserved for two hours maximum.

How could I search for books?
By LRC catalogue or by referring to LRC staff.

What are the types of collections available at Omani corner?
Omani Corner contains various resources related to Sultanate of Oman covering many fields, in addition to works of Omani authors, thinkers and researchers.

How could I use printers, photocopy machine and scanner?
To use these facilities, users have to buy a printing card at the cost of 400 Baizes from Finance Dept. User may charge the printing card with a balance of 1 OMR. Then the card has to be activated by IT technician.

Are LRC users allowed to propose the purchase of scientific books or general books? How is that done?
Yes, users are allowed to suggest the purchase of books and scientific materials through LRC website, suggest the purchase option, available at:
http://portal.asu.edu.om/ar/asu-learning-resources-center/lrc-material-suggestion-forms/

What are the procedures for losing personal belongings?
Security Department should be informed immediately. LRC staff aren’t responsible for losing personal belongings.

Where could the clearance be done?
LRC, Ground Floor, Circulation Department, or online through ASU website.
