Learning Resources Center
The Learning Resources Center is one of the main indispensable facilities for students; it is for students, faculty and staff alike. There are numerous collections of books as well as providing access to printed and electronic sources of information dealing with a variety of topics. The collection is comprised of 10740 printed books, 20 periodic magazines, and 6 daily Newspapers. In addition to that, plans are in place to provide a range of auditory and visual materials and scientific journals in the near future. The learning resource center also offers technical services such as classification, indexing, loans, referencing and electronic searches for information sources. Furthermore, it provides ample spaces for quiet study. The center provides access to printing and photocopying and computer laboratories; one for males and another for females. Each lab has 100 computers connected to the internet and connected to a printer to enable students to perform their assignments and access to information. Moreover, it provides free Wi-Fi service so each user can log in through his/her own user ID and password to gain access to the net through their laptops and mobile phones. The center also has 16 rooms for quiet study and 10 discussion rooms. These rooms can be booked through the library staff for up to two hours at a time using their University ID cards. The center provides referencing services and information to visitors by helping them use the center and get accurate information they need with minimal time and effort.
