MSM & CMA: Dr. Rao and students May 8, 2014

Dr. Rao and select COBA students from the Finance program visited the Muscat Securities Market, a premier Stock Exchange, and Capital Market Authority, Regulatory Authority for Securities market and Insurance.  The purpose of this visit was to provide students with real life exposure to the operations of the securities markets.    A variety of professionals made presentations on security market operations with a focus on actual trading, settlement and clearing mechanisms, and future regulatory developments necessary to achieve corporate governance.  Additionally, student’s learned about investors’ protection and capital markets, including the role of Islamic finance and regulations in the Sultanate of Oman.  We extended an invitation to the MSM to visit our university.
